'College magazine anaylsis'

This is the 'college magazine ', the magazine has a masthead with the title ' College' which is similar to a music magazine.  The image is of a student that looks like they attend a college. In the image the student looks decently dressed, and she is standing with a natural posture.  ' The college' magazine also has a  cover line on the boarder of the magazine. The image is taken in a medium long shot.

The magazine differs from a music magazine, as the colour scheme for this magazine is quite relaxed,  the main colour scheme is green, red and black. The college magazine also has a girl standing in a natural posture and music magazine is usually presented with a known artist and the magazine colour scheme, is usually bright. This is to attract a range of audience readers.

Class analysis of Usher in 'vibe' Magazine

 It's a Mid-long shot of Usher, and he is wearing a oversized dark green body suit, probably pilot clothing or engineering clothing, he is personified a hard working man, with his black aviator shades. He is wearing a box fresh white t-shirt. The whole image look symbolises "top gun" classic US icon - heat throb. The lighting from the top left the article is lit with high key lighting it emphasis star lighting. 

 Usher is pictured near a runway/ airstop , the genre is R&B and he is wearing expensive accessories.

The music genre I decided to choose is R&B. Rhythm and blues is a genre of African American music that originated in the 1940s, R&B is also a music genre that combines elements of blues, soul,funk , pop, hip hop and dance.  However, R&B emerged in America during the late 1980s with artist such as Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. Contemporary R&B artist like Rihanna and Usher. The reason I chose the genre R&B is because I have an interest in Soulful music with the additional mixture of Rap, the other reason for the choice of R&B is because many songs produced from R&B singers, sound different from one another, R&B singers brings up topics that make it relatable for people.

The process of finding the top five Nicki Minaj songs, took patience and lot of independent research, before hand I knew the order of which the songs would be placed in, as I aware of the publicity of each songs produced by Nicki. However, I didn't have the information needed,  therefore I used the browser which directed me to find out highlights of Nicki songs and back story of the production.


I created the double page spread sheet using a software called InDesign, the layout of my spread sheet is simple, this is used because it causes less confusion, I used an image of Nicki from the chosen song and wrote a description underneath or to the side of the picture. The main colour used is pink and this from the Nicki Minaj pictures, the font size is 12 and this size is used through out the spread sheet.

Introduction

My name is Rema Boukari-Moore, I am AS media student at Leyton sixth form college. Media wasn't a subject that I've studied at my previous school. The reason I  decided to study this subject as one of my courses because I have an interest in using software's, also media is wide network and we use media nearly everyday, so I found it fascinating to take part and explore it further. I'm looking forward to the design process and also photography, the one thing I am not looking forward to is the journalism because I hate the idea of writing.
